Another Record – 1063!
This past weekend, in our MADE series (see link below to listen to the message): , we broke another attendance record with 1063. That’s not only 48 more people than that last record (set just a few weeks ago), it was on a 3-Day weekend! God is doing something special right now, and the weekends are not something you want to miss.
Last week I also challenged all of us to something hardcore . . . FASTING! This is where you give up a meal (or meals … or something that you normally like to do) and give that time and focus to prayer instead. I was asking that we all devote one hour (even if it is over several days) to specifically praying for the future of our church and the “expansion of our boarders.” (a reference from Jabez’s prayer – 1 Chronicles 4:9-10).
Here are a few things I have been praying for:
-
1000 people in our Life Groups and 1000 people on our Life Teams by end of 2010 (You can’t imagine how strong that will make us individually and collectively)
-
400 people (mostly new people) to join our San Ramon Campus in 2009
-
Every weekend more and more people making new commitments to following Christ.
-
Financial miracles (jobs, promotions, bonuses, blessings, etc) for everyone who first trusts God financially and commits to being a blessing. ["Blessed to be a Blessing!" (Start with what you have.)]
-
$350,000 dollars pledged for our new Campus
-
Facility miracles to handle all the new growth
-
Physical, emotional, and relational healings as people pray for each other in our Life Groups. ["Miracles happen in our Life Groups"]
-
Wisdom, peace, and provision to everyone in our church who is putting God first (Matthew 6:33), so they can combat the fear and challenges happening in our world. ["Do not be afraid or discouraged ... because the battle is not yours but God's" (2 Chronicles 20:15). "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind." 2 Tim. 1:7]
-
Ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to us as a church (and to us as individuals) (Rev. 2:7) [It is absolutely essential to tune into God's voice (and tune out some other voices)]
In the next blog … I’ll add an insight I was reminded of during my fasting and prayer.
